Abstract
In this study, a hybrid optical fiber was designed and fabricated, which composed of glass core and polymer cladding. The coherent random lasing are obtained from the hybrid fiber under the pump of a 532-nm laser. The mechanism for the random lasing bases on the scattering from the refractive index heterogeneity and the fluorescence from the PM597 in the polymer coating. The key point is found to be the concentration of PM597, which has been investigated by the AFM observation. Keywords
