Abstract
The introduction of high resolution transvaginal transducers has expanded our knowledge of the first and early second‐trimester fetus. This article describes transvaginal assessment of normal brain development. The feasibility of early detection of various fetal central nervous anomalies, such as anencephalus, exencephalus, hydrocephalus, Dandy Walker syndrome and myelomeningocele is described.
