Abstract
To the Editor.— In "Can Clinical Judgment Detect Children with Speech-Language Problems?"1 Dr Glascoe suggests that eliciting parental concerns is an effective means of prescreening children for speech-language problems and that prescreening should be done at all office visits. To minimize the number of children that elude detection by the prescreening, Dr Glascoe also suggests that every child should receive a full developmental screening using a standardized test sometime during the preschool years, even if the results of the prescreening are normal.
