Secretion from human submaxillary gland after section of the chorda tympani

Abstract
The sensitivity of the human submaxillary gland to Mecholyl was followed after section of the chorda tympani. A supersensitivity of a low degree developed. The low degree was considered due to the fact that the nerve section did not prevent reflex secretion. An unknown efferent parasympathetic pathway for this secretory reflex is postulated.
