Abstract
Appraisal for all teachers in schools is almost with us. In this paper, Bob Morris from his perspective as a member of the National Steering Group reviews the recent history of the national framework for schoolteacher appraisal and reflects upon six lessons which he draws from this. In doing so he challenges some well entrenched myths.Keywords
