Abstract
THE administration of a partially purified preparation of anterior pituitary growth hormone to nephrectomized rats was followed by a considerable decrease in the rate of urea production seen after the intravenous administration of protein hydrolysate (Russell and Cappiello, 1949). Highly purified growth hormone preparations have now been employed in similar circumstances. The previous observations have been confirmed in two series of experiments, and some information has been obtained on the relationship of dosage of growth hormone to the effect obtained.
