Abstract
The change in ultrasonic attenuation and velocity of metals due to spins coupled via the Alpher-Rubin mechanism is calculated. In particular the results are applied to nuclear- and electronic-spin resonance in paramagnetic metals where discrepancies with previous calculations are found.Keywords
