Incompetence of the Cervix

Abstract
The author reviews a personal series of 248 cases of incompetence of the uterine cervix. Careful selection of patients and variation of the operative techniques to suit the abnormality have led to a substantial improvement in the success rate. In the past 10 years, 94% of patients have been delivered of living babies. The history of the condition is briefly described.
