Abstract
The bile pigments from sera of patients with hemolytic and obstructive jaundice were extracted by adding saturated ammonium sulfate and ethanol. They were separated into 2 types by reverse phase chromatography. The first eluate was more soluble In water and gave direct van den Bergh reaction, while the 2d was more soluble in organic solvents, and gave indirect van den Bergh reaction. Neither pigment contained protein. Keywords
