Abstract
The finding of papllloma virus in verruca plana-like lesions from a patient with epidermodysplasia verruciformls (EV) by means of electron microscopy was confirmed in our patient. EV is a genodermatosis characterized by reduced resistance to infection by the wart virus. Because of the frequent occurrence of skin cancer in patients with EV, it is possible that the common wart virus may be a carcinogenic agent in genetically predisposed patients.
