New sex attractants were discovered for 37 lepidopterous speries in field screening tests with 26 monounsaturated long-chain acetates and alcohols. Interesting taxonomic groupings are discussed in cases where all attracted species of 1 subfamily utilize similar attractant structures. Three situations are discussed in which pairs of closely related species are reproductively isolated in the field by being attracted to different geometrical isomers.
