Abstract
A dose-rate meter, useful inbiological experiments using germicidal or black light lamps, is described. It consists of a photovoltaic cell, a filter, a holder, and a microammeter. All essential components can be obtained commercially and the device is easily assembled. It has a linear response with intensity and the spectral response is shown. The device is small, rugged, and inexpensive. It has high sensitivity and can be used throughout the UV range.
