Configurational Properties of Random-Flight Chains in Solution and in an Interface

Abstract
The configurational properties of polymer chains in dilute solution and at an interface are treated in terms of the three independent orthogonal components of the radius of gyration. The distribution functions used are found to satisfactorily represent the dilute solution behavior and are in appropriate form for dealing with the interface. Although the general case cannot be solved, the treatment includes thermodynamically good solvents and solvents at the θ temperature as well as strong and weak polymer—surface interactions.
