Abstract
After having analyzed the different causes of macroscopic displacements of photo-carriers in LiNbO 3, the corresponding photoinduced changes of refractive index are computed for the short-circuited and open circuited crystal. It is shown in the second case that total or selective erasure can be performed, using a coherent substraction techniqueKeywords
