Abstract
Recurrent spontaneous panic attacks are psychophysiological symptoms present in panic disorder and agoraphobia with panic attacks. Effective pharmacological treatment of panic attacks is essential to any treatment plan for these conditions. Chlomipramine [an antidepressant] was administered to 20 patients who had panic disorder or agoraphobia with panic attacks, and after 8 wk of treatment 75% of the patients with each diagnosis werea symptomatic. Chlomipramine is apparently highly effective in preventing recurrence of panic attacks. This publication has 1 reference indexed in Scilit:
