Abstract
The alkylation reaction of polyethylenimine (PEI) by polyvinyl chloride) (PVC) was investigated. PEI-PVC cross-linked polymers with high PEI content were obtained in good yields. Study of the adsorption by complexation of mercuric chloride and cupric sulfate from aqueous solution by these polymers showed that they can be used effectively to remove mercuric and cupric salts from aqueous solutions.
