Miscellaneous Contributions to the Essential Oils of the Plants from Various Territories. XII. : On the Components of the Essential Oil of Stevia rebaudiana BERTONI

Abstract

The essential oils of S. rebaudiana Bertoni (Compositae) were examined in detail. The yields of oil were 0.12-0.16% of the dried herbs and 0.43% of the dried inflorescence. These oils mainly contained .beta.-caryophyllene, trans-.beta.-farnesene, .alpha.-humulene, .delta.-cadinene, caryophylleneoxide, nerolidol and an unidentified alcohol as a sesquiterpene, and linalool, terpinen-4-ol, and .alpha.-terpineol as a monoterpene.
