Abstract
We demonstrate, for the first time, a simple wavelength converter based on sinusoidal cross-phase modulation in optical fibers, which offers format- and bit-rate independence. Conversion to more than 20 channels is demonstrated and error-free conversion of data with bit rates of up to 10 Gb/s is also reported. Keywords
