PULMONARY ARTERIOVENOUS FISTULA AND TELANGIECTASIA

Abstract
World literature on pulmonary arteriovenous fistulas is reviewed and 5 new cases added, 3 from personal communications and 2 of the author''s cases. Emphasis is placed on the need for angiocardiography in the diagnosis of this disease. The 4th case is added to the world literature in which only telangiectasis is present, in the absence of a true aneurysm, to explain the shunting of blood from the pulmonary arterial tree to the venous side, causing all the typical symptoms.
