Abstract
Inulin and creatinine clearances in dogs were compared at low rates of urine formation, the U/P ratio of inulin varying from 198 to 574. In a series of 28 observations on 4 dogs the ratio of the simultaneous inulin and creatinine clearances has a mean of 0.993 with a standard deviation of 0.048 and maximum variations of +0.097 and[long dash]0.083. This identity of clearance in the presence of very high concn. ratios is interpreted as indicating there is no passive reabsorption (diffusion) of either substance during their excretion by the normal dog kidney.
