Abstract
Coccidioides was isolated from soil and from rodents in the vicinity of San Carlos, Ariz. Pocket mice {Perognathus) showed the highest incidence of infection (about 80%), and may constitute a natural reservoir of disease. No clinical case of the disease has yet been proved in this area, although it undoubtedly occurs, and a high % of school children react to coccidioidin.
