Abstract
The avg. excretion of bile acid in fistula bile was 34.8 mg. at an avg. concn. of 316 mg.% during the 1st 24 hrs. (12 rats) and 8.8 mg. at a concn. of 97 mg. % during the 2d 24 hrs. (7 rats). The plasma bile acid averaged 2.9 mg.% before duct ligation, 17.8 mg.% 24 hrs. after ligation (18 rats), and 8.9 mg.% 48 hrs. after ligation (9 rats). Plasma bile acid averaged 3.2 mg. % before ligation of the bile duct together with simultaneous bilateral nephrectomy, and 68.3 mg.% 24 hrs. after the double operation (12 rats). The values reported cannot be interpreted concerning the presence, absence or amt. of any given bile acid. Keywords
