Explicit formulas for cutoff values of TE modes on symmetric dielectric slab waveguide with Kerr-like permittivity

Abstract

Based on the perturbation method, very simple expressions are derived which give accurate approximations for the cutoff values of TE modes in the symmetric slab waveguide with a Kerr-like nonlinear thin film.
