Abstract
The emerging information networks raise profound issues of participation and power in their definition and design by the diverse population that will use them. This brief position article considers some of those issues from perspectives of participatory design and ethnocentrism and suggests design methods that can integrate the interests of diverse constituencies in the information networks. Keywords
