Spin topology filtration in N.M.R.

Abstract
A systematic study is presented of pulse sequences designed for the discrimination of spin systems based on the topology of their scalar coupling network. A graph-theoretical description of coupling topology is used to classify spin systems and to construct adapted pulse sequences. Two basic approaches are elaborated: total spin coherence (T-) filters and averaged evolution (A-) filters. The performance of the filter sequences is illustrated by 2D correlation experiments and simulations applied to three-, four-, and five-spin systems.
