Aides on the night shift of a nursing home received in-service training in theory and techniques of behavior therapy. Then, they were provided the opportunity to demonstrate what they had learned by designing and implementing intervention programs for two of their most difficult residents. Described are these programs and their outcome; and discussed are the utilization of staff members as agents of behavioral change.
