Abstract
Observations were made on host reactions of a non-allergic and an allergic individual to infection by 1000-1500 larvae. The non-allergic individual experienced swelling and pruritus of forearm and transient urticarial wheals for several months with a max. eosinophilia 9%. The allergic individual suffered acute swelling of forearm, discontinuous burrows, episodes of local or distant swelling and eosinophilia of over 10% for 31/2 months. The mechanism of host resistance to these parasites is discussed. Keywords
