Oxidative Activity of Subcell Particles from a Number of Plant Species

Abstract
Oxidative reactions of the Krebs cycle were apparently catalyzed by subcell particles from fern (Pteris tremula), cabbage (Brassica oleracea), lettuce (Lactuca sativa), corn (Zea mays), spinach (Spinacia oleracea), and mung bean (Phaseolus aureus) tissues. Definite but less conclusive evidence was found with 5 additional spp. of plants. Active particles were obtained from the green tissues of 7 of the plant spp. investigated. A Waring blendor was used in the isolation.
