Effect of early social experience on adult aggressive behavior in C57BL/10 mice.

Abstract

Early social associations of sibling mice are reported as tending to make the male siblings when adults more ready to fight in a potential fighting situation than male mice raised in isolation from weaning. The sibling associations may be either with females or other males during the first 25 days following weaning at 20 days of age. Apparently the failure of the isolated mice to become familiar with other individuals at an early age inhibits their aggressive behavior when they mature.
