Abstract
Androst-5-ene-3 [beta], 17 [beta],-diol, androst-5-ene-3 [beta], 17 [beta], [beta]-triol and pregn-5-ene-3 [beta], 17 [alpha], 20[alpha]-triol were isolated from normal male urine which was boiled for 2 hours at neutral pH. By analogy with dehydroepiandrosterone and 16a-hydroxydehydroepiandrosterone it is likely that these steroids are present in urine as the 3 [beta]-sulfates. The metabolism of dehydroepiandrosterone is compared with that of estrone.
