Experimental Optimization of Li / SOCl2 Primary Cells with Respect to the Electrolyte and the Cathode Compositions

Abstract

The optimization of the C‐size cells with respect to the parameters such as concentration of source or purity of , and the Teflon content of the carbon cathode showed that low Teflon content, low concentration, and pure improve the intrinsic capacity of the cells. The optimum cell performance at moderate to high rates was obtained with 1(M) salt concentration and 10% Teflon in the cathode.
