Tyramine oxidase

Abstract
An enzyme which affected oxidation of tyramine was found in liver extract. The O consumption corresponded to the absorption of 1 atom of O for 1 molecule of tyramine. Methylene blue was not reduced. The oxidation was not affected by the addition of M/500 KCN H2O2 was produced during the reaction. The optimum p H was 10.0, the enzyme being destroyed at 11.5 and inhibited at 4.4.
