Abstract
By using water and molecular oxygen labelled with O18 it was shown that the O atoms of the hydrogen peroxide produced in the oxidation of glucose by notatin were derived from molecular O2. It was concluded that notatin catalyzed the transfer of H from glucose to O. The first product of the enzymic reaction was probably delta-gluconlactone.Keywords
