Erythrocyte velocity measurement in microvessels by a two-slit photometric method.

Abstract
Erythrocyte velocity is measured in mammalian capillaries and other small vessels by continuous photometry of 2 adjacent regions of the vessel. As red cells pass they generate characteristic patterns in the 2 photometer outputs, from which the time difference and flow velocity are determined. Visual and computer techniques are used for data analysis.
