Abstract
Symptoms of squash leaf curl, a new disease of cucurbitis [including Cucurbita pepo, C. maxima, Citrullus vulgaris and Cucumis melo] in California [USA] include leaf curl, enations, thickening of veins, stunting and high plant mortality. The causal agent, possibly a virus, is transmitted by the whitefly Bemisia tabaci.
