Abstract
New polymer electrolytes composed of acrylonitrile‐methyl methacrylate‐styrene (AMS) terpolymer, 1 M ‐EC/PC, and an inorganic filler have been prepared. Depending on the composition of the components, these electrolytes exhibit a wide range of mechanical and electrical properties. The ionic conductivity reaches in a polymer electrolyte containing 27% AMS terpolymer, 64% ‐EC/PC, and 9% silanized fumed silica at room temperature to give homogeneous films which exhibit good mechanical properties. These systems showed good compatibility with lithium electrodes and a sufficient electrochemical stability to allow safe operation in the rechargeable lithium batteries. The capacity and cycling performance of a Li/polymer electrolyte/ solid‐state cell employing AMS‐based polymer electrolyte were investigated.
