Abstract
Based on an acidic–alkaline double electrolyte, we designed and fabricated a novel Zn/KMnO4 aqueous cell with a high operating voltage of 2.8 V. The theoretical energy density of this aqueous cell is even compatible with organic electrolyte-based lithium batteries. Keywords
