The determination of inositol in animal tissues

Abstract

The author''s method of determining small amts. of inositol, used to study the quantitative behavior of inositol toward various precipitating reagents, led to a new method of determining inositol in animal tissues and a detailed study of its application to brain and heart muscle was made. The av. recovery of inositol added to various tissues was 89.9%.
