THE EFFECT OF TESTOSTERONE PROPIONATE ON NITROGEN, ELECTROLYTE, WATER AND ENERGY METABOLISM IN EUNUCHOIDISM1

Abstract
Intramusc. inj. of testosterone propionate into 4 eunuchoids resulted in increased frequency of erections, enlargement of penis and prostate; consistent decline in urinary N; decline in urinary Na; gain in wt., due largely to water; no consistent effect in creatinine excretion; decline in excretion of K in 2 subjects; slight rise of 6-14 points in B.M.R. in 3 subjects. Restoration toward normal occurred in all of the affected processes during recovery.
