Synthesis and characterization of Co3(O2CCH2CH2PO3)2·6H2O, a metal carboxylate–phosphonate with a framework structure

Abstract

The title compound is the first carboxylate–phosphonate with an extended three-dimensional structure, a framework of trimers of edge-sharing CoO₆-octahedra and organic species with two different functional groups, carboxylic and phosphonic, both coordinated to the metal atoms.
