Virus-Like Structures in Lupus Erythematosus

Abstract
IN five patients with lupus erythematosus and renal involvement virus-like cytoplasmic structures were reported by Györkey.1 Subsequently, he and his colleagues presented a series of 20 such cases with myxovirus-like particles, adding that they did not find them in 70 renal biopsies from patients without lupus erythematosus.2 , 3 In our laboratory a thorough examination of adequate electron micrographs of 260 percutaneous renal biopsies revealed 28 in which myxovirus-like structures could be demonstrated.
