In the Mt. Kahuzi region (Zaire), a group of gorillas was observed and 63 nesting sites examined. Nest-building materials are listed and individual nest locations described from the climatic and topological aspects. Defaecation behaviour here differs from that of the Virunga population. Distance measurements between ground nests showed no distinctions in the arrangement of sex or age classes.
