Uncontrolled municipal landfill leachate during landfilling can seriously pollute groundwater, surface water and soil. Over the past decades, a variety of Advanced Oxidation Processes (AOPs), primarily utilising hydroxyl radicals to effect water purification, have been frequently investigated for treatment of landfill leachate.
