Abstract
In studies on seedlings of nana, a genetic type of dwarf in corn, the amt. of growth hormone given off by the dwarfs was less than that given off by the normal plants; the response of the coleoptile to growth hormone was less in the dwarfs than in the normals; destruction of growth hormone by dwarfs was less than by normals. The possibility is considered that the greater destruction of the growth hor-mone in nana is the cause of the dwarf type of growth. This publication has 2 references indexed in Scilit:
