A New Microsporum and its Occurrence in Soil and on Animals

Abstract
A new species of Microsporum has been described. It differs from other species in the formation of elliptical, echinulate macroconidia that have a thick wall and in the production of a deep purplish-red pigment on the reverse of the colony. M. cookei has been recovered from soil and from numerous animals.Keywords
