Abstract
A novel pick-up for inductively coupled power transfer systems allows the generation of controlled outputs at very high voltage or current using semiconductor switches with modest ratings, and no extra conversion stage. The concept is developed of a ‘pick-up transformer’ from a theoretical viewpoint and its performance is illustrated with a practical example. Keywords
