Abstract
Origin of nerve terminations supplying the adrenal gland of dogs and cats was studied with the aid of the axonal degeneration method after transection or extirpation of nerves and ganglions connected with the adrenals. The adrenal medulla is mainly supplied by preganglionic sympathetic fibers originating from the ventral roots. Th7-9, the cortex by postganglionic sympathetic fibers and sensory fibers from the spinal ganglia Th9-11. These sensory fibers participate in the interproto-plasmatic sympathetic terminal plexuses (Grundplexus of Boeke) of the adrenal cortex. Keywords
