Studies on xanthine oxidase

Abstract
The rate of O uptake was unaffected by complete removal of lactoflavine from, and its addition to, xanthine oxidase preparations, showing that the ability of the xanthine oxidase of milk to react with molecular O is not de-pendent on the presence of lactoflavine. In this system the molecular O probably reacts directly with the activated substrate molecules.
