Abstract
The paper presents a histochemical analysis of the blood Ca and P studies published by McLean and Hinrichs. It demonstrates that the colloidal Ca phosphate formed in the blood when the blood Ca and P concs. are raised by intraven. inj. is phagocytized in the liver and spleen. The rate of phagocytosis by, and release of the colloidal compound from these cells is correlated with the blood picture. Only after subcutan. or intramusc. inj. of large amts. of Ca and P is the colloidal substance phagocytized by the lymph nodes.
