Abstract
Functions YllLM(k^, k^) of the directions of incidence and scattering are considered which transform like spherical harmonics YLM and are linear combinations of products Ylm(k^)Ylm(k^). When they are parity unfavored (l+lL odd), these functions vanish for k^·k^=±1. This property accounts for selection rules pointed out previously for particular types of collision.
